Ol Pejeta & Samburu Safari – 5 Days

Overview

This safari combines the northern Kenya wilderness of Samburu with the conservation-rich landscapes of Ol Pejeta (Laikipia). Expect contrast: arid riverine habitats, rare species, rhino sanctuaries, and chimpanzee rescue centers.

Itinerary

Day 1: Nairobi → Samburu

1. Depart early for Samburu National Reserve. Arrive after lunch, then enjoy an evening game drive.

Day 2: Samburu

1. All-day exploration with morning and afternoon drives, targeting the “Samburu Special Five” (e.g. reticulated giraffe, gerenuk), elephants, predators and birdlife.

Day 3: Samburu → Ol Pejeta

1. After breakfast, depart Samburu and drive to Ol Pejeta Conservancy. Arrive midday, have lunch, then afternoon visit to rhino sanctuary or chimpanzee sanctuary.

Day 4: Ol Pejeta

1. Full-day game drives, rhino viewing, and conservancy walks or night drives (if available).

Day 5: Ol Pejeta → Nairobi

1. Morning game drive, breakfast, then return to Nairobi, arriving late afternoon.
